New Delhi. WhatsApp has rolled out a number of new features in recent weeks, and the Meta-owned messaging app hasn’t stopped there. According to a report, Android users may soon get an option to hide their online status on WhatsApp. According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now working on a feature that allows you to hide your online status from your contacts.

This feature was seen a few weeks ago in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS. Although it is not available in the latest beta version (v2.22.16.12). Meanwhile, WABetaInfo managed to take screenshots of the feature in development. It is noteworthy that the option to hide online status was in the testing phase for iOS users about a month ago.

There will be two options
The upcoming online status visibility feature will appear in a new section of WhatsApp’s last seen privacy settings. It will include two options: Every One and Sam’s Last Seen. If you choose the former, everyone will be able to see your status when you are online. But if you opt for the latter, WhatsApp will automatically select the visibility option you chose for the Last Seen feature.

Online status will be limited
Depending on the option you choose for the Last Seen feature, you can limit your online status to your contacts or to your contacts, except for users you’ve blocked from the Last Seen feature. You can select the option labeled Nobody. With this option, all contacts will see the status before they select their option.

When will this feature be implemented?
As mentioned above, this feature is still in the testing process and is not available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp. At the moment we do not have any information about its implementation, but we will inform you as soon as it starts to be implemented in beta or stable channels.
