The government began this Tuesday the spectrum auction to start the services of the 5G network in the country. This process will take place from 10 am to 6 pm. Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and new player Adani Data Network have participated in the auction. The government has started the auction of 72,000 MHz radio waves for the 5G network. Through this, the government is expected to raise a total of Rs 4.3 lakh crore. The government is expected to fetch around Rs 1 lakh crore from the first auction.

The facilities will be available by the end of the year
Bharti Airtel CTO involved in the auction, Randeep Sekhon, said that after the completion of the spectrum auction process today, if all goes well, by the end of the year 2022 or early 2023, the 5G installation will start. . Our goal is that within 2-4 months after obtaining the spectrum, we will provide 5G service to customers.

Internet speed will increase 10 times
Telecom companies are buying mid- and high-band spectrum to bring the 5G network to customers. These bands have the ability to increase internet speeds up to 10 times compared to current 4G speeds. Mid-range spectrum will be in the 3.3-3.67 GHz range, while high-band includes 26 GHz spectrum. Companies will be given this spectrum for 20 years.

Which company has more initial investment?
Although all the companies are competing to start the 5G network in the country, Reliance Jio has deposited the maximum amount for this. The company has already deposited Rs 14 billion rupees with the Department of Transport ahead of the auction. Bharti Airtel comes in second, having deposited Rs 5.5 billion. Following this, Vodafone Idea has deposited Rs 2,200 crore and Adani Network has deposited Rs 100 crore.

Sunil Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Airtel, said that the company is ready to launch the 5G network installation. Through this powerful network, it will help increase the country’s digital economy.
